Life or Something Like It

http://www.youtube.com/lifeinaday

Google and You Tube announced the launch of Life In A Day this week, billed as a historic cinematic experiment that will attempt to document one day, as seen through the eyes of people around the world. On July 24, participants will have 24 hours to capture a snapshot of their life on camera. One can film anything, from the mundane and human – a family conversation during the morning breakfast rush, a sunrise – or the extraordinary – a wedding, sporting game win, saving a life in an ER, etc.

I think that this is a fantastic idea. The end result will hopefully be reality TV worth watching. My office is thinking about participating. It's my personal belief that everything has a story and is interesting in it's own way. The end result of this project will show one day from multiple perspectives, telling dozens of stories that we would never have payed attention to otherwise.

Ready to Roll?

As the website www.zorb.com boasts, ZORB® globe riding is the latest and greatest adventure activity to come out of New Zealand. Yes, that's right – New Zealand - the innovative little country at the bottom of the world (next to the penguins) that brought you Bungy Jumping, Hobbits, and a range of other crazy things to do while on vacation!! There are also zorbing opportunities in Tennessee.

Zorbing orbing is generally performed on a gentle slope, but can also be done on a level surface, permitting more rider control. In the absence of hills some operators have constructed inflatable, wooden or metal ramps. The Zorb facilities in New Zealand and in TN offer dry rides and wet rides. Wet rides amp up the excitement by adding water to the orb so that the rider gets soaked on their way down the track.

Sounds like a awesome way to beat the heat this scorching summer

Fun Zorb Tid Bit:

Zorbs have been adopted as a symbol of the 2014 Olympic games in Russia. According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, president of the Sochi 2014 organizing committee, "The transparency of zorbs also reflect the open, accessible and inclusive society that Sochi 2014 Games is helping to build.

Jeepers creepers, where'd you get those peepers?

Lady GaGa's wide eyed look in her video for "Bad Romance" has inspired fans to wear potentially hazardous contact lenses. The look is inspired by Japanese anime and achieved by wearing circle lenses. These lenses, which have not been approved by the FDA, make eyes appear larger beacuse the lense covers some of the white of the eye. The lenses can cause serious damage to the cornea bacuse they are not properly fitted. Oh what we do in the name of fashion!

Fridge of the Future

Among the most innovative designs at this year’s Electrolux Design Lab competition is the Bio Robot Refrigerator by Yuriy Dmitriev of Russia. Instead of shelves, the fridge has a non sticky, odourless biopolymer gel that morphs around products to create a pod which suspends items for easy access. The Bio Fridge doesn’t require energy for cooling products and is 4 times smaller than a standard refrigerator. It can also change its shape depending on the number of products and the intensity of its use and can be hung vertically, horizontally and even on the ceiling.

Unique Chairs

Give an old t-shirt new life as a unique chair. Artist Tobias Jueretzek created the RememberMe Chair.

The chairs do not look to comfortable, but they would make interesting conversation pieces. I would turn some of my old concert t-shirts into a chair.
